Nature: BestStop is a personal project, offered free of charge and on a non-profit basis.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By downloading, installing or using BestStop (the “app”) you accept these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with them, do not use the app.
2. What BestStop is
BestStop is an information tool that estimates which service station may be the most convenient place to refuel, taking into account the fuel price and the approximate cost of getting there. It offers guidance, not instructions.
3. All information is estimated
This is the most important point of these terms. BestStop does not guarantee the accuracy, timeliness or availability of any information it displays. In particular:
- Prices come from public official sources and are shown as often as those sources publish them. They may be out of date, contain errors at source or not match the actual price at the pump.
- Routes, distances, times, consumption, tolls, gradients and savings are estimates based on models and approximate data. They are not measurements.
- Station data — location, opening hours, fuel types, services, accessibility for large vehicles — may be incorrect, incomplete or out of date.
- A station shown may be closed, out of fuel or no longer exist when you arrive.
4. User responsibility
You alone are responsible for the decisions you make and for how you use the app. In particular:
- Road safety. Do not handle the device while driving. Pay attention at all times to the road, the signs and the traffic rules, which take precedence over any indication from the app.
- Vehicle suitability. Checking that a station is accessible and suitable for your vehicle — height clearance, length, fuel type — is your responsibility.
- Your own decisions. Refuelling at one place or another, following a route or making a detour are your decisions, taken at your own discretion and risk.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. It is not guaranteed to work without interruption or errors, or to be fit for any particular purpose.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the owner is not liable for damages or losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app, including — without limitation — fuel costs, unnecessary journeys, loss of time, fines, damage to the vehicle or any financial loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law.
7. Availability and changes to the service
BestStop is a personal, free project. It may be modified, temporarily interrupted or permanently discontinued at any time and without notice, without giving rise to any right to compensation.
The service depends on third parties outside the owner's control — connectivity providers, official data sources and external mapping and routing services. Interruptions, delays or errors resulting from the failure, modification or discontinuation of any of them, as well as those due to force majeure, are beyond the owner's control and give rise to no liability.
8. Data sources and attributions
The app uses third-party data, which belongs to its respective providers. The list of sources and their licences is at Data sources.
The BestStop brand, design and code belong to its owner.
9. Personal data
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its last updated date. Continued use of the app after a change implies acceptance of it.
11. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by Spanish law.
If you use BestStop as a consumer, this clause does not deprive you of the protection granted by the mandatory rules of your country of habitual residence, and you may bring any dispute before the courts of your place of residence.
For uses that are not as a consumer, the parties submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
12. Authentic version
The Spanish version of these terms is the only authentic one. Translations into other languages are provided solely to aid understanding; in the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish text prevails.
